About
Our origin
Since arriving in Canada, more specifically in Gatineau, our family has grown. Like many parents, we were looking for a place where we could truly spend time with our children.
By analyzing the available options, we found that in many entertainment venues, parents remain passive spectators. We wanted something different: a place where children and adults can play, laugh, and create memories together.
As immigrants, we also wanted to pass on part of our heritage to our children, to introduce them to the games that have marked several generations and to keep alive this link with our culture.
Our passion for cooking and our desire to create a different kind of family space then gave birth to an idea: to create the place we were looking for ourselves.
This is how the Eden Intercultural Recreation Centre was born, a space inspired by our roots, designed to bring families together and warmly open to the entire community of Gatineau, Ottawa and beyond.

With the Eden Intercultural Recreation Centre, we want to offer an alternative to screens by creating a place where children, adults and families can play, move, exchange and share real moments together.
It is also a space to preserve and showcase a cultural heritage, by keeping alive games passed down from generation to generation.

Our legacy also includes play
For some, they are simply games. For others, they are childhood memories, family traditions, and moments passed down from generation to generation.
We want to give these experiences a new place by allowing everyone to discover them.
From skill games to strategy games, each has its own story and stimulates different skills: thinking, coordination, concentration, agility, patience or teamwork.
An intercultural experience
Our roots are African. Our door is open to all.
The Eden Intercultural Recreation Centre draws much of its identity from African traditions, but its vocation is profoundly intercultural.
Whether you are first, second or third generation African immigrants, were born in Canada or are simply curious to discover new traditions, you are welcome at CRIE.
We want to create a place where some can rediscover a part of their culture and where others can discover it.
From culture to
the plate
Culture is transmitted through play, but also through flavors.
Our experience in the culinary field naturally led us to integrate catering into the Eden project. Our restaurant complements the center's experience by offering an additional opportunity to discover and share different African flavors.

Our modular party room can accommodate up to 40 people and is suitable for different types of events, whether it's a birthday, a family celebration, a private gathering or a special event.
